Looks like we counted out Michael Phelps too soon. After a disappointing start to the Games, he came back to win his 15th gold medal and 19th overall. That's a number unmatched by any other athlete in history.

Anchoring the United States men's team in the 800-meter freestyle, the swimming phenom beat France's team by more than three seconds. May not sound like a lot of time, but in terms of a race, that's eons of time. The only word to describe it is AMAZING. It's like this guy was born with fins. But you wouldn't have thought that a couple days ago.

Everyone was dropped-jawed as he came in a heartbreaking 4th in the 400-meter individual. He did pick up a silver medal for the 200-meter butterfly, but it pained fans -- and Phelps too, I'm sure -- that he lost the gold by 0.05 seconds in that one.

Well, he came back with a vengeance today. The reason? I say nothing quite motivates better than shame. Four years ago, it was clear that Phelps could not be beat. He took home eight gold medals from Beijing. Yes, he's getting older, but he definitely has more wins in his 27-year-old body. We will see just how many more later this week when he takes on the 100-meter butterfly. I'm beyond excited to see him top that already crazy impressive 19-medal haul!

Do you think Michael Phelps will win another gold?
