Olympic TowerIt's only natural to expect some crazy news to come out about certain athletes (and politicians) before an event such as the Olympics, in which so many famous folks are competing on the world stage. But I didn't really expect this much insanity before the Opening Ceremonies even aired!
Now that the incredible Opening Ceremonies have come and gone, it's been interesting to think of everything that's happened already. Can't even begin to imagine what's going to take place during these next two weeks, but I for one will be sure to tune in.
From athletes' sexcapades to a Mitt Romney gaffe to drug testing to an athlete getting booted for a Tweet, let's take a look back after watching the Opening Ceremonies last Friday night to the headline-making scandals leading up to the Big Games. Because ... why not!
Will President Obama jump on the Mitt Romney mistake? Will the Olympics be able to fly the correct flags during the medal ceremonies? Will Voula Papachristou make crazy, ridiculous criticisms about the Games on Twitter? I certainly can't wait to find out! After remembering what's happened already, I'm so pumped for these next two weeks to see the next big headline.

Sorry, Autumn, you're way off base on this one... Obama SHOULD have been briefed on protocol. Either he wasn't, or he didn't listen. Because he signaled, by putting down his notecards, that he was finished with the speech, and the orchestra began playing. In that situation, he should have stopped talking, and RESPECTED that it was their national anthem playing. If you actually watch the video, the Queen looks appalled that he did this.
I get that Obama can do nothing wrong in your eyes, but honestly. You can't defend this one. Or the fact that he SENT BACK the bust of Winston Churchill the minute he moved into the Oval Office. Or the fact that he gave an iPod filled with his own speeches to the Prime Minister of England, who was very nearly deaf, or the fact that he also gave the DVD's to the Queen on the wrong format....
Not "way off base" here. Again, I'm speaking honestly and thoughtfully.
I'm not reaching and digging for anything the president does that isn't perfect just to make him look bad. Like you and every other right winger on this board.

I can't watch the SLIDESHOW because it screws with my computer. So I can only discuss the one issue that I know is on the list. Which is Romney, and his valid concerns.
However, I forgot that you cannot debate with people who have partaken in the Obama Kool-Aid. My mistake.
