It's an embarrassing day for former NBA star Michael Jordan, as his son, Marcus Jordan, was arrested yesterday in Omaha, Nebraska after having an argument with two women outside of a hotel.
The incident happened at around 2:11 a.m., and Marcus was described as being "very animated, intoxicated, and uncooperative." After officers were finally able to handcuff him, he was taken into custody for disorderly conduct & resisting arrest. He was eventually released Sunday evening.
And while further details haven't been released as to what Marcus & the women were fighting about, or what prompted it in the first place, the whole thing is still pretty humiliating -- for both Marcus and Michael.
Other than being the son of one of the most famous and highly respected athletes in the world, Marcus is also a basketball player himself. He plays for the University of Central Florida, and will be a senior when school resumes in the fall.
Having something like this on his record can't bode well for his future, especially since he's nearing the end of his college basketball career. If he has any hopes or dreams of following in his old man's footsteps and playing professionally, then he really needs to think about how his actions might affect his days on the court going forward.
And I can't imagine dear old dad Mike is too thrilled about what went down either. Something tells me seeing the headline "Michael Jordan's Son Arrested" isn't exactly welcome publicity.
Were you surprised to hear about Marcus Jordan's arrest?
