Sports Announcer's On-Air Gibberish Scares Fans But It Wasn't a Stroke (VIDEO)

Baseball announcer Dave Barnett suddenly started speaking gibberish during the Texas Rangers game on Monday, giving him (and fans) a major scare in the middle of his broadcast.

During the eighth inning of the game, he attempted to describe what was happening on the field, and his choice of words was so bizarre, they left viewers wondering what in the world he was talking about.

Take a look at the video clip below to hear what he said and see if you can make any sense out of it.

In case you couldn't quite make out what he was trying to say, his words went something like:

The go-ahead run ... is at fifth on what Adams is insisting on calling it a botched robbery. What actually happened was his henchman ...

Huh? It's pretty obvious that some sort of medical phenomenon was happening to Dave Barnett at the time of his statements, and it is definitely reminiscent of what happened to reporter Serene Branson after the Grammy Awards in 2011.

The cause of Serene's on-air episode was attributed to a severe migraine, which may also be what happened to Dave Barnett -- or at least that's what the Texas Rangers are saying.

But some are a bit skeptical and wonder if he was possibly having a stroke at the time of the incident. They can also cause incoherent speech, and from how random his words sounded, it's easy to see why people feared he was suffering from a stroke and not a migraine. He is currently having more tests done to determine exactly what happened, but hopefully he'll get a clean bill of health and be back at work in no time.

Have you ever had a migraine so severe it altered your speech?

I have had headaches where it was hard to think coherantly let alone speak coherantly. It also happens to me when I am tired, I cant form a complete thought to speak it.

Absolutely yes. The first migraine I had (at age 19) landed me in the emgergency room convinced I was having a stroke because my right arm went numb and I couldn't talk. Fortunately I've only had that happen once more since then, but it is very weird. I knew what I wanted to say, but the words just would not come out.

My son just went to the emergency room (he's 14) because his head started hurting, then he was talking non-sense, then right arm and right side of face went numb. Was so incredibly scary.....we thought he was having a seizure or stroke. Just got clean MRI and CT scan so i'm thinking Migraine. Ugh

A sport is a very good diversion for students who are getting bored in their academic life. It starts by explaining the importance of asking permission and respecting. These sports hubs help all the up to date sports like football, athletics and basketball and other team sports.
