U.S. Marine Corporal Christopher Farias was asked to throw out the first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers game on Father's Day to celebrate him being chosen as "veteran of the game." He was, of course, honored to be a part of the festivities.

Before taking the field, he spoke of how much it meant to him to be given such an important task on Father's Day, because he's the proud father of a stepson -- and also because of how much he loves his own dad. And while he believed his father, Lawrence Farias, was spending the day back at his home in Houston, Texas -- he had no idea that he was about to get a huge surprise.

Take a look at the video below and watch what happens after Christopher throws the first pitch, and realizes that the catcher is actually his father in disguise.

Isn't it wonderful that they got to be together on Father's Day? And making their reunion even sweeter was the fact that this was the first time they'd spent Father's Day together in eight years. Christopher was always deployed, so it never worked out for them to get together & celebrate. And in a million years, I'm sure they never guessed they'd finally reunite at Dodger Stadium, of all places!

This was truly a special day that they'll never forget -- and I highly doubt any of the fans watching from the stands will be able to get it out of their minds either. Hopefully this is only the first of many Father's Days they will get to spend with one another in the future!
