The last thing any hockey player expects to see while making his way across the ice is some sort of annoying distraction from fans in the stands -- especially when that distraction comes in the form of a humongous cardboard head in the likeness of a Jersey Shore cast member. And that's exactly what everyone at the New Jersey Devils vs. Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup Finals game last night saw when they glanced behind the Devils' bench -- over-sized heads of Snooki, Pauly D, JWoww, and The Situation.
Apparently some of the rowdier LA fans thought it would be pretty funny to taunt the Devils by literally giving them a large reminder of what exactly their state is most famous for these days. And honestly, I don't know how anyone can't crack up after seeing these heads. (And I can't help but wonder what that one dude in the photo was thinking while he peered behind his seat. He looked thrilled, didn't he?)
More from The Stir: Katie Couric Shouldn’t Underestimate the Power of Snooki
Odds are good that the Devils players probably weren't even fazed by the heads. It's kind of hard to imagine anyone being offended by the Jersey Shore crew, even though they are pretty much famous simply because they get rip-roaring drunk and say & do all sorts of outrageous things. If anything, having their likeness show up at the game only added to the fun of the night, and gave fans something else to yell about. Of course, the Kings did manage to pull off a win. Maybe Snooki and the rest of the gang are more of a distraction than we thought?
I gotta be honest -- I don't think I could resist the urge to fist pump if I saw them staring back at me in the stands.
Do you think the Jersey Shore heads were an insult to the Devils?
