Am I the only person who's starting to feel really, really bad for Lamar Odom? Because he's had an endless series of bad luck going on these days. Sure, he married willingly into the Kardashian family and he seems truly in love with Khloe, but it's kind of hard to ignore that his career has been on a downward spiral ever since he said, "I do."
From being traded by the Lakers, then released from the Dallas Mavericks, and then cheated out of his share of their playoff money, it's starting to look like there isn't much hope for Lamar in terms of getting his groove back on the court and becoming a basketball superstar again. But he may have one saving grace in his future that could turn his frown upside down -- landing a spot on the United States Olympic basketball team. And there are reports coming out that securing a place on the team is high on Lamar's to-do list.
A source apparently told RadarOnline:
He has been training non-stop to get in the best shape possible and will do anything to make the cut. Lamar has tremendous respect for the Olympic head coach Mike Krzyewski, and he knows what he has to do to get ready. Khloe is also training with Lamar to give him confidence and she is really being as supportive as she can.

For Lamar's sake, I hope these reports are true and he really is doing everything in his power to make the Olympic team. Because unless he gets back out on the court again and shows that he still has a lot of game left in him, there's no way he's ever going to be a part of the NBA again. There's plenty of money and fame that comes with being part of the Kardashian empire, but something tells me Lamar will never be truly happy unless he's dribbling and sinking three-point shots again.
Do you think Lamar will wind up on the Olympic team?

I hope he does. He seems like a good guy.
He really seems to struggle between making Khloe happy by doing the whole "Kardashian" thing, and staying true to himself and his passion for basketball.
He had a career and a life and money before he met Khloe. I don't know too many men who would be okay giving all that up to ride the coat tails of their wife. Scott seems happy to do it with Kourtney, but honestly, what did he have before he became her boyfriend and the father of her children? Nothing. Lamar has something that is worth hanging on to and I hope he puts 100% into that.
