khloe & Lamar

Huh. Did you ever think you'd see the day where a Kardashian dude actually stuck up for himself and lived his life according to his own terms? Don't laugh -- I'm being totally serious. (For reals.)

Lamar Odom has been in a total career slump ever since he got caught up in the whole reality TV/Kardashian lifestyle. But judging from the fact that he and Khloe have decided to give up chronicling every moment of their lives on TV (at least for the time being), it's pretty obvious that Lamar is finally wearing the pants in that marriage. Yep -- you heard me right. Khloe & Lamar has been cancelled. (Cue the tears.)

Supposedly Lamar is hell bent on breathing new life back into his game on the court, so he's hired trainers and all that good stuff and is ready to focus on making a big basketball comeback. No more cameras. No more drama. No more in-laws telling him what to do.

I gotta tell ya, I'm pretty proud of this dude for sticking to his guns on what is important to him right now -- and I'm also giving Khloe props for caring about him enough to know that her career doesn't always have to come before his. The Kardashians are a force to be reckoned with, and it seems like most of the men don't really have a huge say as to what course their lives take. C'mon -- Kris Humphries didn't stand a chance, and Scott Disick is totally free-loading off his famous baby mama. At least Lamar had enough guts to call the shots on his own career path. (Let's hope Kanye West is paying attention.)

See ya, reality TV -- Lamar's getting his groove back. It's b-ball time.
