Before Linsanity there was ... Lin's sofa bed? Well, actually it's a couch and the couch in question doesn't actually belong to New York Knicks phenomenon Jeremy Lin, but it is the couch he started crashing on right before skyrocketing to legend status.
Thanks to his buddy and teammate Landry Fields, that is. Landry is the rightful owner of the brown velour couch. Until recently, it was just another piece of furniture at his NYC apartment.
Then Lin came along, needing a place to stay. (How all 6 feet, 3 inches of the point guard slept on a two-cushion sofa is beyond me, but anyway.)
Lin crashed on that couch for ONE NIGHT before landing an NBA contract ensuring he'll never have to crash on anybody's couch again ...
And now the once-humble setee will forever be known as the Luckiest Couch in Basketball.
Seriously, Fields even seems to think his hand-me-down furniture could turn him a tidy profit. Yesterday he tweeted a photo of the sofa, saying: "Ladies and gentlemen, the one and only couch made famous by @JLin7! Let the bidding begin!"
I'm pretty sure Madison Square Garden Co. would vouch for the couch as a good-luck charm, considering MSG stock hit an all-time high today. (Guess they'll have to line up behind the Knicks to kiss Jeremy Lin's feet.)
Would you buy the couch Jeremy Lin crashed on before signing his NBA contract?
