Golf has a reputation for being slow, boring, uptight, and for senior citizens or tightly-wound people trying to do deals. But not anymore! The PGA now has a boy band of its very own to liven things up at the U.S. Open. Pro golfers Ben Crane, Hunter Mahan, Rickie Fowler, and Bubba Watson make up the "Golf Boys," whose hit single (okay, that may be a bit of a stretch, but just go with it) "Oh Oh Oh" is energizing pro golf.
Reviving some of the best signature lyrics and "moves" from popular boy bands of the last couple decades -- the track's title and defiantly raising their arms in the air with fists while staring intently at the ground is so NKOTB's "The Right Stuff," while staring thoughtfully off in the distance is definitely BSB -- the Golf Boys' video is a major dose of pure hilarity.
I especially love Ben Crane -- the dude with the helmet and red scuba one-piece -- who is totally the Zach Galifianakis of this motley crew.
And speaking of Zach, this video would be right at home on a site like FunnyorDie. This is just what stuffy old pro-golf needed!
Turns out world-ranked 44 Ben Crane has almost made something of a second career with his comedy. He's the "driving force" (ha) behind this video and several other comedy clips, which have earned him attention as one of the funniest guys on the green.
I also love that he's gotten charitable with his comedy. Farmers Insurance pledged to pay up $1,000 (to support both Farmers and Ben Crane charitable initiatives) for every 100,000 views the Golf Boys video gets. And right now, it has 1,189,751 views! Niiiice! If you want to contribute, all you have to do is watch the video. And now I love them even more.
Did you enjoy the "Oh Oh Oh" by Golf Boys video?
