35 weeks...four days before the big day

We're joining Kim (aka wntg1grl), a stay-at-home mom of three who's expecting twins, on her exciting journey from bump-to-babies. Check back every week for the latest developments.

The Birth
The Monday of week 36, I go to my NST appointment. Things look good, the girls are still head down, with a nice amount of fluid around them. However, my blood pressure is up so the doctor orders a blood test for pregnancy-induced hypertension.

Week 34
What's Happening with Mom:

I am now going to the hospital twice a week for a fetal non-stress test (NST), and seeing the OB once a week. This has been hard around the holidays because the kids are out of school, but alll of the testing is going great. Sometimes the babies cooperate, and sometimes they don't, so the NST can take an hour or more on some days. If the fluid around either of them is too low, or their heart rates aren't accelerating, they'll deliver the babies—that's a scary thought, but so far, so good!

Week 33
What's Happening with Mom:
The hospital bag is packed! I packed four sleepers: one preemie and one newborn for each baby (matching ones of course!). Hats to keep their sweet heads warm, a receiving blanket and warm blanket each, and some diapers and wipes. Not too much but the bag is full. And we live near the hospital so I know I can have anything else delivered should I need it.

Week 30 & 31
What's Happening with Mom:

No appointments this week, I'm just feeling big and uncomfortable.

I am physically ready for the babies...mentally, I don't think it has really settled that I will soon have two new babies. I am ready for them, but having one is what I'm used to, so trying to prepare myself mentally. I'm really nervous, we're trying our best to relax but it's not easy.

Week 30 & 31
What's Happening with Mom:
In week 30, I was concerned about the lack of movement I've been feeling. I just kept thinking that with two of them, I should be feeling much more. I called the doctor and they sent me to the hospital for a non-stress test.

Week 29
What's Happening with Mom:
I had an OB and a perinatal appointment. Both babies are still in the breech position. Baby B has the cord around her neck one time (loosely). They said she can easily roll one way and it will come off, or she can roll the other way and put it around another time, or make it tight...this could spell trouble, but it is very common, too. Trying not to get too worked up, but this really makes me nervous.

Week 26
What's Happening with Mom:
I had my shower this past weekend and received so many little cute outfits that match. My amazing friends and family must have had so much fun shopping for twins! I am so blessed.

I had an appointment with the perinatologist and everything looks perfect. Baby A (Sadie) weighs in at 1lb 12oz, and Baby B (Shae) is 1lb 10oz. They are growing perfectly even.

Week 25
What's Happening with Mom:

This week I was SHOCKED to learn that I have gained ZERO pounds! I feel huge, much bigger than my last appointment, but I guess no heavier. The doctor did measure my belly, and boy, have I grown. I am measuring 34 cm, and this is unbelievable to me. So, I am bigger, just not heavier!
