Everyone was pretty shocked after hearing that Halle Berry is pregnant with her second child at the age of 46 -- but it sounds like no one was quite as surprised as her.

She was so stunned, in fact, that Halle thought she had kidney stones when she went to the doctor to see what was going on. And even though I've never had a kidney stone, I can totally relate to what Halle went through. Like her, I was pretty dumbfounded when I found out that the abdominal pain I was experiencing was due to the fact that I was pregnant.

One of my all-time fave scenes in the movie Grease has to be when Rizzo, played by Stockard Channing, thinks she might be pregnant with Kenickie's kid and her admission starts a whole game of telephone at the drive-in. It was like a crash course in how many different, potentially offensive slang terms there are for being pregnant.

One of the toughest parts of trying to get pregnant has to be playing the waiting game each month to see whether or not you get your period and, of course, whether or not you wind up with a positive home pregnancy test.

But even though you can't confirm things until you get two pink lines or a plus sign on a test stick, there are some really early pregnancy symptoms that might be an indication that you have a baby on board even if it's way too early to officially detect things yet.

All right, Internet, pencils down. The most charming video in the category of Time-Lapse Pregnancy Documentation has officially been created, and the blue ribbon goes to new father Tomer Grencel and his gorgeous wife Osher. Grencel used 1,000 separate photos in order to string together a video that covers Osher's entire pregnancy from start to finish, and the final product is ridiculously awesome.

I'm sure you've seen this sort of stop-motion pregnancy-happening-at-the-speed-of-light video before, since they've become increasingly popular in recent years, but Grencel's effort really goes above and beyond. While many videos focus on the ever-growing bump, Grencel's clip also includes plenty of the little moments that make up a pregnancy -- including morning sickness and cravings.

Say you're a man, and you're bored. You come across a pregnancy test left in your bathroom cabinet by an ex-girlfriend, and you think, Hey, LOL, lemme pee on this thing! and so you do. And, you know, it's kinda funny. You then wait the appropriate amount of time to check the results, and after the three minutes or so, bazam. You see two pink lines. Congrats, you're pregnant.

WHAT!? The doctors had good and bad news for the unnamed man with a positive pregnancy test.

The running joke among me and my friends over here on the east coast waiting out Hurricane Sandy: one of us will be pacing around with an EPT test come December or January. (Alas, it won’t be me, since immaculate conceptions seem to be pretty few and far between.) Indeed, this is perfecto baby-making weather: it’s messy and gray on the streets, but comfy and cozy in the house. Trying to guess if someone is pregnant before they're ready to tell you is a losing proposition any way you look at it. Either you're wrong and you just called a woman fat, or you're right and you take the wind of their surprise.
