OMG. It's been a while since a story really moved me and gave me chills, but after hearing about how 10-month-old Ashley Fife came into the world, I'm having a tough time getting the lump out of my throat.

The baby's parents, Samantha and Jordan Fife, adopted her -- but Samantha also carried her in her womb and gave birth to her. (Yes, really.)

They already have two adoptive daughters, and when they decided they wanted to add a third child to their family, they stumbled across a nontraditional way of going about the process -- embryo donation.

Here's the amazing part -- the Fifes adopted Ashley's frozen embryo, which was one of five unused embryos leftover from a couple from Arizona, Dana and Vince Davis, who had undergone IVF.

A father who approved the adoption of his biological daughter changed his mind and decided he wanted the baby after all. He sued for custody -- and after two years the adoptive parents were forced to give the girl to her biological father. Doesn't sound fair, considering the father had already given up his parental rights, does it? But wait -- this father was 2 percent Native American. He used the Indian Child Welfare Act to claim the girl he had once given up.

Is that fair? The Supreme Court heard this case today. A law that was passed in 1978 to keep families together has been used to tear one family apart. The court must decide if that's legal -- but is anyone considering what's best for the child?

Have you heard the big news? The Duggars may adopt a baby, which would make them the proud parents of 20 kids. Yep, Jim Bob and Michelle admit that having another child isn't out of the question for them, and we'll hear even more about their plans on the upcoming TLC special, 19 Kids & Counting: Duggars Do Asia.

Michelle says, "The kids are definitely pushing towards wanting us to open our home up to another child or more. They see how much we have been blessed with and how little so many children have and they want to share. We tell our children that would have to be something that is God’s will for our family, and we will see if it is. Our children love children, and we all do."

I just read the sweetest -- and most surprising -- adoption story this morning. It starts with a social worker named Danny finding an abandoned baby in a subway station. He calls his boyfriend right away. "I found a baby! I called 911, but I don't think they believed me. No one's coming. I don't want to leave the baby alone." Danny's boyfriend, Peter Mercurio, ran to meet him and flag down a cab.

Three months later, Danny showed up at family court to explain how he found the baby. Peter was flabbergasted when the judge asked Danny, out of the blue, "Would you be interested in adopting this baby?" A gay social worker living with his penniless boyfriend and a roommate? Sure, why not!

If you spend any amount of time on Facebook, you've probably seen at least one or two of the following: a photo of a person adopted as a child who is desperately searching for their birth parents. They're so sweet, you can't help but hit share. And now a woman on the other side of the coin is looking for the same outpouring of Internet support.

She wasn't adopted. She was, is, the birth mom to a little girl she named Crystal Dawn when she gave birth to her way back in 1969. Four days later, her daughter was adopted and the commonwealth of Virginia sealed the records. Now, in a photo that's spreading like wildfire across the Internet, she holds a sign telling her daughter that she has always loved her.

Forget about the debate over passport forms replacing ‘Mother’ and ‘Father’ with ‘Parent One’ and ‘Parent Two’ -- make way for Parent Three! A Florida judge has ruled that a 22-month-old baby girl shall have three people listed as her parents on her birth certificate -- a married lesbian couple and the gay man that provides one half of her DNA.

Maria Italiano, 43, and Cher Filippazzo, 38, had not successfully conceived a much-desired child, even after several attempts at fertility clinics. Italiano’s hairdresser Massimiliano Gerina offered to provide his sperm for artificial insemination after the women approached him on the subject.

It's a big win for fathers everywhere! Sgt. Terry Achane, the soldier dad who made headlines last year when his wife put up their daughter for adoption without telling him, has gotten his baby back!

The ruling from a Utah court reverses the adoption of Teleah Achane by Jared and Kristi Frei, who were able to adopt the little girl they called Leah based only on the consent of mother Tira Bland. Bland is now Achane's ex-wife, and it turns out she had allegedly told Achane she was going to have an abortion while he was stationed at a United States Army base in South Carolina.

This is not your ordinary celeb pregnancy. Former American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi is expecting a baby boy with her husband, Mike McCuddy. Yay! But we won't see adorable photos of Kara's baby bump. After struggling with fertility issues, the couple is having their baby through a gestational surrogate. And you better believe she's just as happy and excited about that baby as any pregnant mom.

But here's the interesting thing about a surrogate birth -- there's a third parent in the picture. "We’re praying for our surrogate, that she gets through this and that it’s as easy on her as it can possibly be, because she’s been a gem throughout the whole process," Kara says. "I've got two people on my mind: her and the baby. She's given us a precious gift."

For every famous "Teen Mom", there are thousands of pregnant teens who make a very different choice: Adoption. They don't go on reality TV, and we rarely hear their stories. But in their way, they are mothers, too. And that's why I'm so glad Haley told her story about why she chose adoption.

Haley is a teen who wrote the story of her pregnancy at the age of 15 for the blog Portrait of an Adoption. She's breathtakingly candid about how the whole experience felt for her. It ends with positive outcomes for everyone involved, but my heart broke along the way as I read what Haley went through.

Opening up your home and adopting a baby who needs loving parents is always a blessing, but one couple from New York went one step further in adding to their family.

Kristen and David Coffee adopted two babies -- both of whom have Down's Syndrome. They already have one biological child, a 9-year-old son, but then while Kristen was sitting in church one Sunday morning, she suddenly felt the overwhelming urge to give a special needs baby a loving home.
