That's clearly what the Wynn Casino, in Las Vegas, the City of Sin, where "what happens here, stays here," thinks in banning pregnant models from appearing in lingerie in a fashion show at the night club, according to Gawker.
The club recently prohibited pregnant models wearing Bravado nursing bras from the catwalk in a late-night fashion show. Jennifer Dunne, a casino spokesman, said that it's all for their own good and issued a statement:
"We did not feel it appropriate to feature a very pregnant model in a nightclub, at midnight, where alcohol was being served."
By "very pregnant" I'm assuming she means "pregnant and showing." So as long as they don't look like they are pregnant, they're okay. Nevermind that most damage to the developing baby from alcohol happens in the first and second trimesters, before many women look "very" pregnant at all.
Few would disagree all this is ludicrous, or fail to devise the subtext of this carefully worded PR-spun statement:
-- Vegas is a place for single (or single-minded), irresponsible men to look at sexy, hot women.
-- Pregnant bellies mean "responsibility." That is "not sexy."
-- "Not sexy" does not sell alcohol, because drinking leads to acts that result in ladies with pregnant bellies, or, in other words, responsibility.
-- Responsibility does not sell drinks to singled-minded, single men acting irresponsibly.
I'm disappointed that these women weren't hanging out at the bar as regular customers. Then the ACLU could have gotten involved. That would have made a much better story.
Lots of pregnant women love to get their wild on and go dancing at clubs and other places that serve alcohol. Doesn't mean they are actually drinking the alcohol, now does it?
As long as it's a non-smoking club and you are not attempting cartwheels on the dance floor, I say go for it, live it up -- you hot, pregnant, sexy, breastfeeding-bra wearing woman, you. Not because you give two s***s about Steve Wynn or what some stupid men think, but because, I'm sorry to say, the party is very quickly coming to an end (unless you are Octomom, that is).
Do pregnant women belong in nightclubs or should they try to "act" more like a mother?

My doctor said anything I did before I was pregnant I could do while I was pregnant. hee hee -- No really, I think if that is what a woman wants to do, it is her business. As long as she is not drinking, I don't see what the big deal would be.
i think pregnant women in lingerie are sexier then non pregnant women!!!!!
i agree that pregnant women shouldnt treat their bodies like nonpregnant women can... but i dunno, each to their own i guess
I did all sort of things when I was pregnant with my first one....and nightclubs and late nights with friends was included. There is a smoking ban in the town I lived it, and I didn't drink, so I saw no problem in having fun before my "responsiblity" arrived :)
Well I guess Michelle Duggard won't be allowed to show up there when pregnant to model!
Hopefully Vegas won't have a show with overweight Telly Savalas wanna-be's on their cat-walk.....cause who wants to see that or Fred Flinstones shaking their stuff with drunken women gawking at them and their muffin tops!
Preggo women look fine in lingerie.
If the companies made the lingerie wear for preggo women, then they should prehaps host their show at another casino that does not condone that type of lingerie modeling and enjoy their appropriate new hotel for an enjoyable evening of preggo models on their cat-walk.
I'll see if OCTO MOM is available!!
im probably gonna get alot of crap for this, but just MY OPINION- i think pregnant girls in lingerie is disgusting, or anything revealing like swimsuits. pregnancy grosses me out. even tho i get hit on more when im pregnant, as for going out, go out! why not? after the babys born u aint gonna be able to go out much. as long as the club doesnt allow smoking.
What are we selling lingerie or beer? Who is the the audience a La Leche League convention or drunken businessmen? Seriously how many new daddies buy their wives's nursing bras? What is the ROI (return on investment) of paying these models to strut their stuff? This is a business decision not a personal attack on the sexiness of pregnancy.
I'm pregnant and very obviously so. My birthday is on New Years and to celebrate my birthday and my best friend's birthday we are having a girls trip to Vegas for New Years. I know the clubs have strict dress codes and being shunned for being prego is something I have been worried about. But I'm just going to go and be with my friends and have a good time. As for what other people think, screw 'em. I'm not drinking, my belly will be covered up, and I really see no problem with it. As for the fashion show thing... Pregnant women are people too. We have to wear clothes and I'm sure all women enjoy a steamy night with their partner before the baby is born. To say no to prego ladies is saying "No, I don't like to make money".
