My godson, who was born in December, was named August, but his parents call him Gus. I really like the name, but I don't think I would have gone with a nickname.

i usually dont like names that are also other words but i dont mind June, but i dont really like August. but its not the worst ive heard.
I like June too. That will be my daughter's middle name if this baby is a girl.
I have a nephew named August. It is a family name on my Sister in law's side. I think it is a good, stong name.
I named my oldest daugter Ariela Augusta. I was going to be August for the first name but my mother talked me out of it.
