I am now going to the hospital twice a week for a fetal non-stress test (NST), and seeing the OB once a week. This has been hard around the holidays because the kids are out of school, but alll of the testing is going great. Sometimes the babies cooperate, and sometimes they don't, so the NST can take an hour or more on some days. If the fluid around either of them is too low, or their heart rates aren't accelerating, they'll deliver the babies—that's a scary thought, but so far, so good!
We did learn that they're both head down now. I am so happy about that since I at least have a chance of delivering vaginally. The doctor has made it perfectly clear that sometimes the first baby comes out fine, but the second one will flip and be breech. If this happens, I will need a c-section. I have had such mixed feelings about this because I really don't want to go through labor and delivery and then need a c-section. But I've decided that I need to try the vaginal delivery. I am just so happy that Baby B (Shae) has given me the option to try! There's still time until I am full term so I also know she can turn around again. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hope she stays put.
I'm hoping to make it past the first of the year—then I will be 36 weeks. The doctor has said that the girls will be here by 38 weeks. I can't believe its about to be over, or should I say its about to start? I am physically ready, but emotionally? Not so much! But I am excited to meet my daughters...so strange to even say!
Our Christmas traditions have not changed because of my pregnancy. And they won't unless I go into labor before Christmas!
What's Happening with Babies:
We get fatter and our skin gets softer in week 34. Our central nervous system and lungs are continuing to mature so if we happen to decide to make an early appearance (weeks 34 - 38), we're usually fine after a short stay in the neonatal nursery.
Question of the Week from Answers:

Cafe Kristen: I had my twins vaginally three years ago. It all went very smoothly, though I know it's scary. Message me if you have any questions.
