Whether or not you believe creams and oils help prevent stretch marks (heredity is said to be the main cause), there is no disputing that a good lotion helps with the itch often experienced when you have a growing belly. Plus, who doesn't love a good body cream?
Janice Cox, author of Natural Beauty at Home, always whips up some of the best beauty recipes, and this Great Expectations Cream sounds fantastic and is easy to make. A perfect homemade gift for mama-to-be!
You will need:
- 1/4 cup cocoa butter
- 1 teaspoon light sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon apricot kernel oil
- 1 teaspoon vitamin E oil
To make:
Mix ingredients in a pot and with a low heat on stove, stir until everything is melted and well blended. Pour into a clean container with a good lid like a mason jar or a lotion container previously used and cleaned. Yields 2 1/2 ounces.
You can then decorate the jar with a bow and some ribbons, maybe even a candy cane.
Do you make your own beauty products? Giving any as gifts?
