We're joining Kim (aka wntg1grl), a stay-at-home mom of three who's expecting twins, on her exciting journey from bump-to-babies. Check back every week for the latest developments.
Week 26
What's Happening with Mom:
I had my shower this past weekend and received so many little cute outfits that match. My amazing friends and family must have had so much fun shopping for twins! I am so blessed.
I had an appointment with the perinatologist and everything looks perfect. Baby A (Sadie) weighs in at 1lb 12oz, and Baby B (Shae) is 1lb 10oz. They are growing perfectly even.
My cervix has shortened a little, from 5 cm to 4.5 cm. They say it's normal throughout pregnancy. Both babies are in the breech position still. He said that at about 32 weeks they are probably where they will stay, but that isn't always the case. I am hoping for them to turn!
What's Happening with Babies:
Our eyelids have separated and we can now see our surroundings (wow, it's dark in here!). We're also able to move our heads back and forth, we've been practicing saying "nooo" for when our brothers pick on us! We also recognize your voice, Mommy. We like it when you talk.
Question of the Week from Answers:
I am 29 weeks pregnant and just learned my cervix has shortened to 2.1. Has anyone had this happen to them? Does anyone know how long you can go before giving birth considering the shortening? I gave birth at 34 weeks with my last pregnancy. - anonymous
Mrs.Owen86: You can go weeks, it just means things are softening up. I'm 70-80% effaced and I'm only 32 weeks but they aren't worried right now. I don't think you really have anything to worry about but if you are then talk to your doctor. They would be the best person to tell you because they know this pregnancy and your history.
