When I think of the boy's name Holden, I think of a smart kid who is rather handsome, sort of shy and very sweet. You know how names give different people different feelings?
I don't know anyone named Holden unless we count Holden Caulfield, the main character in J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. And if I went by that Holden's personality, it doesn't exactly match my thoughts when thinking of the name.
But what a great name it is.
CafeMom's Baby Name Finder says the name Holden means "from the hollow in the valley" and it recently gained some popularity, but ranks in at 358th most popular name in the US.
Do you like the name Holden? What does the name make you think of?

I loved the name Holden, but when we got pregnant it didn't sound right with DH's last name... So it was crossed out :(
I have a nephew named Holden Scott. He is very cute but he can be very mean!
We considered Holden. It didn't sound right with our last name though and so it was nixed.
Holden makes me think of the cutest little boy, with dimples, dark brown hair and blue eyes.
Not my bag at ALL.
I think it's cute. My friend's son is named Holden.
I like it. It was on my list untli I realized that with our last name, our son would be Holden Johnson! Can't have that.
I like the name- it sounds like the name of someone on a soap opera.
whenever I hear it I think of Friends and the episode where Joey needs a stage name and they talk him into Holden MaGroin. Not a fan of it for an actual kid.. lol
Not my cup of tea at all, but definitely not the worst I have heard/seen. I also don't think it's even one of those names that would strike me as "strange."
