We're joining Kim (aka wntg1grl), a stay-at-home mom of three who's expecting twins, on her exciting journey from bump-to-babies. Check back every week for the latest developments.
Week 25
What's Happening with Mom:
This week I was SHOCKED to learn that I have gained ZERO pounds! I feel huge, much bigger than my last appointment, but I guess no heavier. The doctor did measure my belly, and boy, have I grown. I am measuring 34 cm, and this is unbelievable to me. So, I am bigger, just not heavier!
My baby shower is this coming Sunday. I will be just over 26 weeks then ... but it is definitely better to do the shower earlier rather than later when expecting twins. These little girls could come really early, and I need to be prepared.
Sleeping is also becoming more interesting. I have pillows for my head, arms, legs, and back. Then all of the bathroom trips I make ... usually at least three per night. All of these symptoms appeared in my earlier pregnancies, but not until the last eight weeks or so. Everything is happening so much earlier this time around. I am also beginning to get swollen feet and hands, another very early symptom! My mom comes about five days a week and cooks dinner, so that's been a huge help.
What's Happening with Babies:
If for some reason we decide to debut early, we can certainly do so without too much trauma, so your mind can ease, Mommy! Our cute baby fat is starting to form on our lean little bodies and we're starting to get our hair!

I hear you on the swelling! I am 30 weeks pregnant with twins and oh wow how my hands and feet have swelled to the point where they hurt. I get up to pee 3 times a night too, and I cannot get comfortable in bed no matter what. My hands and arms are constantly falling asleep.
Still, it's great being pregnant with twins! Such an exciting time.
Rest as much as you can now. When I had my twins at 37 weeks and was 46 cm. Let me tell ya...I could not take 3 steps without having to sit back down. They were just a little under 7lbs each. I did go into early labor at 32 weeks but we did manage to stop it. When I gave birth I lost every single pound that I had gained..it was all babies. Listen to your body and rest as much as you can. It is all about you..dont worry about meeting other peoples needs..just stay focused on you and those babies because these last weeks are really tough. If you are tired, rest. Hungry...eat. Drink as much water as you can and it should help with swelling. this is when its ok to be really selfish.
Sorry about giving advice when you did not ask for it. :P
I really like this page. I'm a first time mom @25wks expecting fraternal twins also. I'm very excited and I read anything I can get my hands on. I came across your page and it's very refreshing. I'm glad you have the "Completed Weeks of Gestation at Birth/Odds of Survival" chart as well. It's comforting to know that bit of information:) I wll "favorite" your page in order to keep track of your progress and advice. Good luck!
PS-it looks so yummy where you are-you are SO lucky as I reside in Chicago, IL and it's SO cold:( Anyway, send some "warm vibes" my way;) Luckily by the time the babies arrive it will be going into spring/summer!
I am 25weeks pregnant and on bedrest for preterm labor, I have contractions through the day, but nothing to go to the hospital for. I was wondering is it okay to have sex?
