Do you watch Project Runway? I don't miss an episode and I was so excited with last week's focus on designing maternity clothes!
Here we are, coming upon Fall, my favorite fashion season, and I cannot rock the clothes like last year -- twins at 23 weeks have my body...well, you know.
Though I may never wear (or afford) the designs created by the Project Runway contestants, it was nice to dream and to get inspiration.
The idea of Project Runway and maternity clothes isn't new exactly. Fourth season winner, Christian Siriano created a line after he won called Fierce Mamas. And of course there's Heidi Klum...who is now pregnant with baby number four and has been pregnant during the taping of the show. Oh to have legs like hers!
A lot of thought must go into maternity clothes -- the fabric must navigate the baby bump and still have an even hem. Plus, they had to keep in mind what parts of a pregnant woman's body she would want to hide and what to accentuate.
There were three looks that I loved. My favorite might have been the one above by Nicolas. I would have liked the pants to go to ankle though...to hide any swelling.

The length of Althea's dress, also color, and the sexy bustline made me want her dress if I had some fancy event to go to. Not that I do, but I can dream.
Shirin was the winner of the challenge with a chic and well detailed dress and super cute coat. I'd love a coat like that!

I really like this challenge. There was some really pretty things. I do really like the one that won though. I didn't know Rebecca Romijn-Stamos was pregnant. I guess she probably had the babies by now :).
She did have the babies -- twin girls!
Shirins was beautiful!
Where do I find these?
Sadly, you won't be able to find them in stores, since they are designs by Project Runway contestants. I hope the designers end up making a line though!
