I'm a single mom by choice, who conceived twins with a sperm donor. Best decision I ever made. It took awhile to get there, and had considered the option when married to a man with a zero sperm count. So, I had a few years to get used to the idea as the marriage fell apart and I got to a place where I felt comfortable going the solo parent route. Once I made the decision though, there was no looking back. It just felt right. My twins are now 3.5 years old and are starting to ask more questions that I'm answering at the level they can understand. So far, so good! When they turn 18, they can get identifying info on the donor and try to make contact, if they wish. If not, we've already made contact with parents of other siblings from the same donor. A very cute bunch! I'm so thankful to the man that made the choice to become a donor.
To women considering egg donation, or couples considering donating extra frozen embryos.... You'll be helping to make dreams come true for others, and those new families created will be forever greatful that you took that brave step!
