BOB Sport Utility Stroller: Take It or Leave It?

Like a lot of baby gear, choosing a stroller is difficult. You can't truly know what you're going to like and what's going to work for you until you actually try it out with your new baby, but most strollers are so expensive it's not like you can just get another one if your first choice doesn't work out.

I thought about getting a jogging stroller, but haven't yet—I wanted to wait until my baby was at least six months old and then it just didn't seem necessary. But I've heard a lot of good things about BOB Strollers and I'm reconsidering. I'd love to hear what you all think.

Item: BOB Sport Utility Stroller (SUS)

Cost: $299.99

What it does: It's a long-lasting, reliable stroller that allows mom to exercise—walk, run, rollerblade—while her baby stays comfy.

Pros: It's good on all kinds of terrain—bumpy trails, the beach, rocks, and more.

Cons: It's difficult to store, hard to travel with, and if it's the only stroller you have, it can be difficult to maneuver in supermarket aisles. It's expensive.

I got a similar one (Quinny I think) second hand (for 40$, was told it was originally 400 or something like that) and I LOVE it. I did not get a stroller at all till he was 6 months or so, before that I was using my baby bjorn everywhere but about 6 months my back could not take it for another instant. I live in the country and I can take the one I have everywhere outside (I still have yet to figure out how to fold it up), I have a small easy fold up umbrella stroller (20$ at Sears) that I store in the car for grocery shopping and the like. That system works very well for me. I never bought one of those strollers that the car seat attaches too. Never needed it either.

I would absolutely love to have one of these as a walker/jogger- but in my world they are crazy expensive, lol, so unless I find one uber cheap second hand that darn umbrella stroller has to do it for me. But when I see these I practically drool......

Generally I go with the stroller/carseat combo, because it to me is so very convenient to not have to unbuckle, rebuckle, unbuckle, rebuckle every time you go somewhere, lol....but those bulky strollers are no fun for a jogger, lol....
