Second Hand Maternity Clothes

second hand maternity clothesI don't want to buy maternity clothes. I should be fine for the summer, but as fall and winter come around, I'm probably going to have to give in -- I have twins due in December. I just learned of a new store in my neighborhood that carries second hand maternity clothes. You can buy, sell, and trade your gently used items. How exciting!

One thing I definitely need is a pair of skinny jeans -- you know the jeans that are tight at the ankle. They are (or were) a staple in my wardrobe and I can't zip up the ones I have (they are kind of tight on my butt, too, now) and the maternity skinny jeans I like are about $90. Um. No thanks. My regular favorite skinny jeans cost me $12.50 from Forever 21. So I am not about to spend on jeans I will only wear for a short time. I'm looking forward to checking out the shop to see what they have.

Do you (or would you) shop for second hand maternity clothes?

I LOVED having the option for secondhand maternity clothing. I mean, you can get the stuff for a fraction of the original price and it looks brand new. Most of the stuff is only worn fr a couple of months so, why not?

I like to get my maternity clothes like I get my kids playclothes - Craigslist. I got  lot of maternity clothes for $15 last week and I got 12 shirts, 4 capris, 6 pants, 2 shorts, and 2 belly bands. I might not wear them all, but you can't beat $15!

It's the same with the kids clothes. We buy a lot of new, but for the most part, buying lots of one size makes a nice "filler" for their wardrobes.

I always storage my maternity clothes when I have my kids so I have plenty. Some of them are hand me downs from family members that are done having kids other are clothes that I got and save before I was preggo but I saw them cheap and I got to have it. I buy maternity clothes but also non maternity clothes that is very loose or stretchy. Leggings help a lot too.

It looks like Forever 21 has a maternity line now and they're reasonably priced. Unfortunately, it's too late for me, since I've already bought things and won't need any more jeans before I'm due.
