Can You Live Without Body Lotion?

When it comes to beauty, I'm really lazy. I wish I were one of those people who could get it together to have a haircut every two months, like my stylist wants me to, and who could master the art of seamless foundation, and who could take the extra three minutes in the shower to do a body scrub. But there's always something more pressing to do (like, um, spending time with my toddler and/or taking a nap).

Which is why the dry, stretched-out skin of pregnancy is a total bummer for me. I don't want to get stretch marks, obviously, and the up-at-three-AM-itching-my-legs thing is truly unpleasant. So for the first few months I dutifully slathered on body butter. Yes to Carrots Body Butter is particularly good, and organic, which is helpful given that my son is going through a licking-my-leg phase (don't ask).

But that extra five minutes of rubbing it in every morning after the shower just killed me. So then, when I was cleaning out my back closet, I found this L'Occitane shower oil that a friend gave me as a birthday gift -- four years ago! -- and I gave it a try. I am not exaggerating when I say that it's AMAZING: not overly scented, not overly greasy, just luxurious-feeling and perfect. Now I can do my body butter routine every three or four days instead of every one. And it's lasted a really long time, too, which makes me feel better about the $22 price tag.

Is there any product that you've found that makes your pregnant skin feel better? I want to know!
