Summertime...BBQs, beaches, pools, backyard gatherings, cocktails.... Scratch that last one for us pregnant ladies. But why does everyone else get to enjoy a cold and fruity beverage while we're left with our water or ginger ale?
I've got some great mocktail recipes -- perfect for those who don't drink and kids, too -- that are refreshing, hyrdrating, and delicious. And I'm so craving fruit more than ever before, so these are excellent!
Babylove (what a fitting name, right?) from Drink Jockey
Ingredients:
- 1 whole banana
- 3/4 ounces cream (I would use low-fat milk)
- 3/4 ounces banana syrup (or just skip this -- I did and it's just as good)
- 2 ounces pineapple juice
- 1 1/2 ounces coconut milk
Prepare: Shake well over crushed ice in a shaker. Strain into a tall glass and fill with crushed ice. Top with banana slices and serve.
Cardinal Punch (has ginger ale for the morning sickness mamas -- use natural ginger ale if you can) from All Recipes
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces cranberry juice
- 2 ounces ginger ale
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 1 ounce orange juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
Prepare: In a glass, mix the cranberry juice, ginger ale, lemon juice, orange juice, and honey. Serve with ice.
Also check out my recipe for a non-alcoholic Watermelon Punch -- it may be my all-time favorite. Also Cafe Kim has links for a mocktail Bellini and the timeless Shirley Temple.
What's your favorite non-alcoholic cocktail?
