I'm following a first-time pregnant mama, bam61907, on her exciting journey from bump to baby. Check back every Wednesday for the latest developments!
Week 30
What's Happening with Mom: This was a long week. I've been down in the dumps. There were two days that were just horrible, where I was sad all day and could not focus on something positive to save my life!
I've been stressing about my belly getting big and I"m worried about getting stretch marks. Justin says I'm not big, I'm pregnant, which is some sort of reassurance. I never thought it would be so difficult to adjust to gaining weight. I know it's for Aubrey, but it's hard not to get down about it from time to time.
I've been having an increased number of Braxton Hicks contractions. I don't know if how frequently I'm having them is "okay," but I'm assuming it's because I'm not drinking enough water. It's a hassle to drink so much and be in the bathroom every 10 - 20 minutes.
I've been having trouble sleeping, so I'm tired and irritable, too. Justin and I have been having more sex, though, the last couple of weeks -- I guess I somehow got a random increase in sex drive!
My baby shower is next weekend. I am so excited, but nervous, too. I suppose I'm just hoping it all goes as planned. We're expecting 45 - 50 people, which will be an amazing turnout.
All of our nursery furniture is ready -- we just need the rocker. Justin and I bought the stroller and car seat (travel system) after my last visit to the hospital. After that scare. we thought we should be prepared in case Aubrey has a plan of her own. But we're waiting to do any more serious shopping until after the baby shower.
What's happening with Baby: I weigh about three pounds now and am 15 - 16 inches long -- in the next few weeks, I'll really start to pack on the weight. My brain is growing, my eyesight is improving, and I'm practicing my breathing in utero.
Question of the Week from Pregnancy:
I just entered my third trimester and, I don't know if this is a big baby or what, but I feel like I'm always hurting. Sometimes the Braxton Hicks contractions are really painful and I get cramping and a weird shock or tingling when I move too quickly, too. My doctor told me a belly belt might relieve some pressure and help with the pain. Anyone else in a lot of pain? -- CarterMommy
This is my third pregnancy and it's been really painful. On the bright side, it's almost over! -- ApawlakUSA
I was -- then I went to a chiropractor (who I now see weekly). He adjusted me and now I feel great. -- MamaCarterof5
The belly belts are so helpful -- you should try one! -- greenblinkE

Your not big at all for 30 weeks, you should of seen me :) Iam very surprized I have no stretch marks because I am huge...... Iam 35 weeks and 46 inches around. I have gained 50 pounds and still 6 weeks to go..... You look great for 30 weeks. I looked like that at 20 weeks lol
I have to say that I agree, you are not that big. I am about 28 weeks and I'm bigger than you. Right before I found out I was pregnant I was eating right and exercising and I lost 30 lbs. Even though I knew I was going to gain weight it has been the hardest part of being pregnant the 2nd time around. I can handle the trowing up and the syotica never too but getting on that scale at every check in has been living hell. I was at 183 when I found out this time and I dropped to 170 in the first trimester and I'm now back up to 190. So I know what you're feeling. I wonder if this is your first? If so as much as I hate gaining weight I know it'll be worth it in the end. Good luck and Congratulations!
Thanks ladies.
QueenBee-Yes, this is my first pregnancy.
