I'm following a first-time pregnant mom, Brittany (bam61907), on her exciting journey from bump to baby. Check back every Wednesday for the latest developments!
Week 28
What's Happening with Mom: I am so excited about being in the third trimester. I want the rest of the time to pass quickly, but I know I am going to be soooo terrified when labor comes!
I feel like my stomach has gotten so much harder this week, and my belly button is starting to pop -- I may have an outy by the end of the pregnancy! I've been irritable at work, I'm still very tired, and I have leg cramps from hell. The cramps happen almost every night and hurt so bad that I wake up.
I've started nesting -- I've been vacuuming the carpet like crazy. Justin says I'm going to vacuum up the whole thing up at this rate.
I have O- blood, so that requires some special planning, but my midwife says it's nothing to worry about. I just have to get the Rhogam shot so my body doesn't try to fight off the baby. In the beginning of my pregnancy, when I went to the hospital with cramping and spotting, I got the shot then. The next one is due soon and then I'll get a final shot before I give birth to Aubrey.
My biggest concern at the moment is drinking enough water. I drink a lot of it, but I constantly pee it out. I get so irritated with having to go to the bathroom 20-30 times a day that I have to push myself to drink it so I don't wind up back in the hospital due to dehydration.
I was looking again this week at my 3D ultrasound DVD. It has music in the background. As soon as the music started, Aubrey began kicking, so I moved the speaker closer to my tummy and she started kicking even harder! They say that the baby can hear noises now from inside the womb and I definitely believe it.
I am loving Aubrey's crib. My mother-in-law bought the crib and nursery furniture and I walk into the room just randomly to look at her stuff -- but mainly to look at that crib. I cannot wait until we have the mattress, bedding, and of course Aubrey inside of it!
What's Happening with Baby: I weigh almost two and a half pounds and I'm about 15 inches long. My lungs are continuing to mature, I'm gathering fat stores, I can blink now, and I may even be able to dream.
Question of the Week from Answers:

I've started nesting and I've got 11 weeks until my due date. I used to be a big bleach user, but now I try to use "green" cleaners. -- BrysonsMom1987
How does your pregnancy compare to Brittany's? Are you nesting yet? What baby item is your favorite so far?
