I'm following a first-time pregnant mom, bam61907 on her exciting journey from bump to baby. Check back every Wednesday for the latest developments!
Week 25
What's Happening with Mom: This week I tried to make time for family. Between work, school, and the pregnancy, I haven't had much time to visit with them. So this weekend we finally got to catch up.
Aubrey has definitely picked up the pace with her kicks -- they're much bigger now. Once this week she kicked and it looked like her foot was going to poke right out of my belly. It was great, but caught me off guard!
One thing that's been bothering me is a "friend" who does not understand how tiring pregnancy is -- she constantly complains about me not paying enough attention to her, and I just don't have the energy to keep up with her needs. We still hang out, but not like before I was pregnant. She does not understand: Pregnancy Is Exhausting!
I'm definitely having weird dreams these days -- really random and out of place. I am also experiencing back pain -- this week it's been kicking my butt. I can't believe how bad it is already!
As for food, I've been craving white pizza and a nice cold root beer -- and I'm getting excited about my baby shower on May 2.
What's Happening with Baby: I weigh about a pound and a half and am over a foot long now. I'm kicking like crazy while I've still got room, my nostrils are opening, and my lungs are continuing to develop in preparation for breathing outside the womb when I arrive.
Question of the Week from Pregnancy:
I'm in my second trimester and am uncomfortable sleeping on my back now. What's the best sleep position? -- mrs_bunch
The best position is on your side with a pillow between your legs. -- nhutchison
The added weight on your belly compresses your spine and can block blood flow. I found sleeping on my side with a body pillow propped up under my tummy and also in between my legs worked wonders! -- brittdaniels

That's funny. I just woke up today with one of the weirdest dreams yet (this is my second pregnancy) and have decided that I hate pregnacy dreams! This one was really scary and actually woke me up and kept me up. Like I get enough sleep as it is :-P Sometimes the position that the baby's in kinda hurts as well, but that's expected. I'm 21 weeks. Love this post Brit! Can't wait for you to meet your little girl :-)
Pregnancy dreams are the weirdest! It's SO cool when you dream about the baby (make sure to write those down with dates; they're great for a baby book!) but the weird dreams that just make you roll over and go "what the heck was that?" sometimes happen just as often!
Sometimes people just DON'T GET IT when it comes to how tired you are! Just say "HELLO! I'm making a baby here!"
hello im about 32 weeks along and I completely understand what you mean...pregnancy is hard on your bodya nd all you wanna do is sleep. I have a friend who is kinda like your friend...all you can really do is explain it to them and if they still dont get it just give it time too...as far as her kicking goes just wait it gets even better...the other day I actually say lexi's foot pop out on my stomach and I could see her toes it was so cute....but good luck and get some rest....this is one of the most beautiful times of your life....God Bless
Im 23 weeks along and found lots of comfort in the maternity pillow my fiance bought me. I no longer have any sleeping problems except for the occasional leg cramp, but that can be dealt with by adding more calcium to your diet. Hope this helped =)
RebekahsMommy06-Yes, pregnancy dreams are so weird! Yeah some of them really catch me by surprise!
mmmommy0207-Good idea, I never thought about writing the dreams down in her baby book. Well, at least the good dreams =)
Yeah unfortunetly not everyone understands how exhausting pregnancy is. I never got that "burst of energy" people talk about in the second trimester. I talked to my friend about it and I told her it is not like an on off switch for when I am tired and have no energy and somedays after working and going to school full-time, I just want to relax at home with my husband. Hopefully she understands more, but if not, then I cannot say anything more about it to her.
LexiMom89- I am def. looking forward to seeing feet and toes popping out! It is truly amazing.
youngmom3525- I will have to try increasing my calcium intake. Thanks for your advice!
