I love the idea of a baby arriving around Valentine's Day. Talk about way better than a box of chocolates, right?
I spoke to Samantha (mama312206), who's due on Valentine's Day. Turns out she and her fiance, Quentin, are looking forward to a slightly early delivery, which means they'll be celebrating the day with a newborn in their arms.
Where do you guys live?
We're in Pennsylvania.
Is this your first baby?
No, I have a son named Jesse. He'll be three in March.
So, you're due on Valentine's Day -- what did you think when you first heard that was your due date?
it was pretty neat! It's a very sweet notion, to think of a
Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?
It's another boy.
You know now you won't be delivering on V-Day -- you have a scheduled C-section for tomorrow, the 10th. How did that come about?
I had a C-section
with my first son. I only dilated to 6 cm, even with the use of Pitocin. He was a big baby (8lbs., 9oz.), and the doctors think my
pelvis was too small. I desperately wanted to try for a VBAC, but I saw five different doctors, and none of them were willing to give it a go.
You'll likely be bringing the baby home on the 13th, so Valentine's Day will be your first full day at home with him. How perfect! How do you think you'll spend the day? Will you try to squeeze in something special?
I imagine the day will be pretty hectic. I'm sure friends and family will want to come over. My fiance and I agreed that the baby was present enough, so we're not exchanging gifts this year. We did, however, get my son a present -- "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" game. He'll be excited to have that to open for Valentine's Day!
Are you expecting a Valentine's baby, too? Tell me when she/he is due to arrive.
