Baby-to-Toddler Bathtub: Take It or Leave It?

First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe

Newborn-to-Toddler Tub,

It's Take It or Leave It Tuesday, where you tell me what's on your baby registry and what's not. Last week it was the Maya Wrap, and moms were almost evenly split on whether or not they wanted this sling. This week, it's a tub for baby.

I had this tub myself for my first baby and we used it, but with baby number two it was the kitchen sink all the way. Let's see what you have to say.

Item: First Years Sure Comfort Deluxe Newborn-to-Toddler Tub

Cost: $18

What it does: This tub is intended to transition with your baby from birth to the toddler stage. A soft "bath cradle" can be attached at both ends, acting as a sort of hammock to lift and support a newborn. There's an infant backrest at one end and a toddler seat at the other.

Pros: It may make bath time easier by adding extra support and providing a safe "tub within a tub" -- wet babies are slippery! When your baby is smaller, the tub can make bath time mobile -- place it on a flat surface and you're not relegated to the bathroom.

Cons: It's kind of big and bulky, so finding an out-of-sight place to store it may be a drag.
