Secret Fit Boot Cut Maternity Pants, $25, Motherhood Maternity
I was not psyched to buy maternity clothes. I was anxious about my body getting bigger, I didn't think I'd look good, and it seemed silly to shell out money for something I'd wear for such a short period of time. But you can't squeeze into your regular pants forever.
joyvanhalen asked moms in Pregnancy when they switched to maternity clothes -- she said she was in her fourth month and her pants were getting tight.
Some moms said they switched at around four months, too, but others reported they'd made it till pretty late iin the pregnancy before they had to move to mat clothes.
lovelyfaith said she was due in a month and still hadn't switched; she just unbuttons her pants and wears a belly band over them.
What are some moms wearing when they do switch to maternity pants? fkh8ah said she's loving Secret Fit Maternity Pants from Motherhood Maternity (they have a wide, seamless band that stretches over the belly.) And lots of other moms-to-be said they were happily wearing them, too -- although a couple complained that the band tended to slide down.
When did you make the switch from your regular pants to maternity clothes? Or have you?

I switched to maternity clothes at about 6 months, and I really did have to! I have found that Old Navy maternity clothes has fit me comfy, and it's not too pricey. I would hate to spend so much on maternity clothes, when you only use it for a few months.
I used b-buckles, http://www.stellamaternity.com/b-buckles.html, to make my non-pregnancy jeans go a little further.
With my first I switched around 6 months. With this one Im 3 and 1/2 months and already made the change...Not due to weight gain but m stomach is poking out so much already. Its strange!
And Ive tried the "secret fit" belly pants at motherhood and I hated them! Lol! They use this material that feels like pantyhose instead of the regular bands. I tried a pair on and it itched so bad! I had to dig to find a pair of pants with the normal band in them!
I switched to wearing maternity clother about 4 and a half months. I actually broke down in the dressing room at motherhood and started crying because none of their maternity clothes fit. Im 6 foot tall so their pants not only didnt fit around my waste but was too short.. Actually, i couldnt even pull teh pants up above my hips. Alopt of their cloes were too expensive and the things that were on sale were just ugly. I felt like, ''what kinda of pregnant women are they trying to fit in these clothes?'' With everything being so expensive and with finds low and clothes not fitting, i guess thats where the emotiuon all came from. But after looking harder and many failed attemps, i did walk out with teh best pair of pants i thought i would never find and some shirts. a bit expensive, but fit great.
i havent had to switch to maternity clothes, i do have one pair of maternity jeans that i wear to work just for comfort, but other than that i still fit in my normal jeans! im 36 almost 37 weeks, and very very lucky to have stayed so small.
I loved buying maternity clothes. I love the full-panel pants that go over your stomach. LOL They are so comfy. I found Old Navy to be a pretty good place to buy from, their clothes are cute and not too expensive. Motherhood stores are ok, I buy from their sale racks though...I don't mind having a large maternity wardrobe because I know this isn't my last baby so they'll get used!
Well my first pregnancy i didnt have to switch till i was 6 months this pregnancy i have to already and Im only 3 months. But i really dont buy maternity clothes because you only wear them for so little time and most maternity cute clothes is expenisve. So i just buy bigger sizes.
I wish I could find resonably priced maternity clothes in plus sizes. the look so comfy. I can't even find plus size clothes the I can justify buying for a couple months.
