Naming a baby is not easy, but sure is fun. There are tons of names to choose from and what's trending tends to shift over time. There are the names that are most popular and then there are the names that are making a comeback from the past. There's also future-thinking and modern baby names to choose from. Some names are considered masculine or feminine and some are gender neutral. All parents have to pick a name. But what if there's more than one baby? We personally think that the Busbys from TLC's OutDaughtered did a good job naming their five daughter, quintuplets. There's Ava Lane, Parker Kate, Hazel Grace, Riley Paige, and Olivia Marie. Sometimes, there's no rhyme or reason for names, but sometimes, parents just want to be a little more coordinated with it.

Whether parents are having twins, triplets, sextuplets, or just want to plan children's names in advance so they coordinate, there are definitely lots of places of inspiration to draw from. We took a look and rounded up some of the most iconic duos, from pop culture like movies and TV shows to historical figures. They are names that just go together and boost each other up. For example, when one thinks of a Thelma, Louis comes to mind -- that's the idea.

When choosing the names, there's obviously the sound of it. Names should sound good together. But then there's also context. Names can be meaningful for lots of people and that extends to names that go together or reference a group of people.

We included all types of pairs below for baby naming help. There are BFF pairs, actual siblings, mother-daughter pairs, couple pairs, working besties, and simply partners-in-crime. No matter which pair the parents choose, the fact remains that each person was by the other person's side at a time in their lives. And that right there means something. Happy name picking!

Marilyn Monroe and James Dean weren't best friends. They didn't even know each other, but they were both big movie stars around the same time, and everyone sorta wished that they did. And that's why the two are often pictured together in fan art and forever associated as Hollywood heartthrobs.

  • Thelma & Louise

Thelma and Louise are one of the most iconic duos out there. The movie about them (starring Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis) features the two women embarking on an adventure together escaping the police.

Throwing it way back to the Roman times, Queen Cleopatra (from Egypt) and Mark Antony (a Roman) made another fascinating pair that survived throughout history. The two actually crossed paths after Cleo's love, Julius Ceaser, had died and they worked together as allies (then lovers) to strengthen their countries.

  • Henry & Catherine

Henry VIII and Queen Catherine of Aragon were married, she being his first wife. The drama surrounding the English king and his divorce from Catherine was a lot, naturally, but Catherine was ahead of her time "becoming the first female ambassador in European history."

  • Victoria & Albert

England's Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were another royal couple (and yes they were a married couple, not best friends). They fought quite often, but the pair truly loved each other, and Victoria even wore black for the rest of her life after Albert's death.

  • Marie & Pierre

Talk about a smart pair. Marie Curie, the Nobel Prize-winning scientist credited along with husband Pierre with discovering radium, had a good partner in her corner. Marie was the first to be on to the fact that the element could exist, and after collaborating with Pierre, the two actually created it.
  • Martin & Coretta

Coretta Scott King stood by Martin Luther King Jr.'s every step of the way on his journey to ensuring equality for all Americans. It wasn't love at first sight, but according to Coretta, the two grew closer to one another.

Johnny Cash and June Carter's story isn't simple by any means, but man, the country stars were in love. The two had a lot in common and a draw to each other that neither could resist.

"So no one told you that life was going to be this wayyyy..." The theme song from Friends is so easy to get stuck in one's head, but nothing will be stuck like glue tighter than best friends Rachel and Monica (played by Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox). They went through relationships, marriages, jobs, babies, and more.

  • Lennon & McCartney

John Lennon and Paul McCartney were not only good friends but song partners, too, for a band that may ring a bell: The Beatles. There's even fan photos, websites, and paintings dedicated to the day they met.

  • Holmes & Watson

Two of the most brilliant detectives to walk the fictional Earth are Sherlock Holmes and his compadre, Dr. John Watson. Each man was completely different but the two together, from wit to problem solving, were unstoppable.

"Lucy, I'm home!" Sure, Lucy had husband Ricky Ricardo as her lover, but Ethel and Lucy made a great pair. They had the sense of humor with each other that a person dreams about having in a best friend.

  • Franklin (or Roosevelt) & Eleanor

Franklin D. Roosevelt was 32nd president of the United States, but Eleanor wasn't a typical FLOTUS (first lady,) especially for that time. She was a diplomat and humanitarian and played a role in FDR's presidential duties, too.

  • Cory & Shawn

Most '90s kids should know this pair of best friends. Corey, more even-keeled, and Shawn, the loyal one, made a pair that made it through thick and thin.

  • Sawyer & Finn

    16

For the literature nerds out there, one of the OG duos is definitely Tom Sawyer and Huck(leberry) Finn. They epitomized the complexities of the "all-American" story but showed how opposites could work quite well together.

  • Olivia & Elliot

    17

Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler are one of TV's most iconic cop pairs. They are fiercely loyal to each other and have each other's backs for both work and personal matters.

  • Lorelai & Rory

    18

Lorelai and Rory Gilmore are mother-daughter goals and friendship goals at the same time. Their names are also cooly unusual and bring up wholesome memories of the show, at least for us.

  • William & Harry

    19

Everyone knows this pair. The young and adored royals. They're real-life brothers and have contrasting but admirable personalities and bring freshness to their namesakes.

  • Arya & Sansa

Arya and Sansa epitomize everything that is strength and sisterhood. Not everything is perfect, but ultimately, they protect and love one another.
