For what seems like forever, the letter "J" has been the foundation for many pretty baby girl names that often end up as the most popular. From South America to Asia, Jasmine has been a beloved name all over the world. Jessica made its debut in a play by Shakespeare. And of course, we can't forget the name Juliet. June was a hit in the 1920s. Names like Julia, Jennifer, Jill and Jackie are mainstays and commonly heard. It feels as if the list for "J" names goes on and on. But what about more unique and obscure baby girl names that start with a "J"? Maybe we're fans of the letter but want something that'll definitely stand out in the crowd. The good news is that there are many more lesser-known baby girl "J" names.

As we just went through above, picking a rare and unique name in the sea of other (and just as nice) "J" names can be kind of a challenge. After all, there are so many variations of popular "J" names to sort through first, such as Joan, Joanne, Joanna, Johanna, and Julianne, Julia, Julie. Does anyone else have name exhaustion yet? (By the way, we have nothing against Julia Child, Julia Roberts, or anyone else named with a popular "J" name!)

But don't let that discourage anyone from picking a "J" name! It's still a worthy cause. Even though "J" names often end up in the lists of top baby names, the letter still provides parents and baby girls with adorable names that are just as sweet and special as the baby herself.

From Joelle to Jensen and Jardena, click ahead to browse through 20 unique and gorgeous "J" names perfect for a baby girl. We guarantee that anyone looking for "J" name inspiration will find it here.
