Jasper at the playground
I'm not big on exercise, but when kid #2 was on the way, I actually got a lot of it chasing #1around at the playground -- that's him in the swings! I got to thinking about it when bunNtheoven asked gals in the pregnancy group whether or not people were exercising. Great question!
I also got a little exercise lifting the spoon from the Ben & Jerry's container to my mouth -- but all the kid-chasing and just walking around a ton since I live in the city were both a big help. So tell me more -- what else do y'all do to keep movin'? Or are you focused more on just relaxing and trying to get plenty of sleep? I did a lot of that, too!

Exercise,I get lot of it i have a 1 year old and a 2 year old that i chasing around all day and all the house work and everything else to do.My hubby oversea at this time so i am all by myself and no family where i live.I miss him so much.
I didn't exercise much more than easy walking w/ my first pregnancy. I'm prego w/ my second, now, and am an exercisin' fool in comparison! LOL I was running until about 12 weeks, then I started to power walk 2-3 miles a day, or do stationary bike and swim. I'm starting prenatal yoga in a couple weeks. In addition, just like the other ladies, I'm chasing after a 4 yr old and doing housework! Plus, my job as a park ranger gives me a lot of opportunity to be outside and hike around.
i excercise 3-4 days a week. there are a lot of great benefits from excercising both before and after pregnancy. Check out the group Pregnancy Fitness on CafeMom.
I was pretty excited about exercising while pregnant...until I was told not to. I had an irritable cervix, which didn't do much except contract a lot more than it should, though it could have led to premature labor. This can be (and for me, was!) aggravated by movement. I was told not to do any actual "exercise", my day-to-day movements were enough! Of course, the ONE time I was actually working out like I should have been!
Any exercise advice for us soon-to-be moms that don't have kids to chase yet?
I think just getting out there and walking is great -- it's easy, you don't have to attend a class and it keeps you moving! But I also know lots of moms who loved their prenatal yoga classes -- and then after the baby was born, they switched to mommy-and-me-classes, and they love those, too!
