Mom Shares Pics of Her Miscarried Babies in Moving Tribute (PHOTOS)

baby feetWith an estimated 30 percent of all pregnancies ending in miscarriage, the experience is incredibly common for women -- but that doesn't make it any less traumatic. Still, the painful process is seldom talked about and rarely documented, which is what makes one mom's photo albums of her miscarried babies so striking.

Mindy Raelynne Danison has been through two miscarriages (that we know of), but instead of just quietly suffering through the losses, she decided to make photo albums on Facebook dedicated to her unborn babies' brief lives, both of whom she named. The photos (which may be too graphic for some viewers) are truly a testament to the fragility of life, and a fascinating, if sad, look at how babies develop in the womb.

This first album shows tiny "Annabelle," miscarried at 8 weeks, 5 days:

Here, Danison even accessorized the pic with a pink bow:

This shot of Annabelle cradled in Mindy's engagement ring is a powerful demonstration of how tiny the baby was:

Baby Riley, meanwhile, was even smaller -- doctors estimate that this child passed at just 7 weeks' gestation:

It's a sad, if sweet, tribute -- but if making the albums helped Mindy to heal, that's all that matters. And there is a silver lining to this story: Mindy is currently expecting twins! We wish her all the best!
