When it comes to labor and delivery, you're the star of the show, natch, but your husband or partner will probably be right there with you -- with an up-close-and-personal ring-side seat. How will he react to seeing the birth of his child?
MRS.LYONS29 said her husband was wonderful -- and not even a bit nervous -- when he witnessed the C-section delivery of their baby. She asked other moms in Pregnancy how their husbands reacted to childbirth. I've compiled a few of the responses.
How some husbands and partners reacted to watching the birth of their child:
My husband thought it was awesome -- he said it was the most beautiful/gross thing he's ever seen. -- abellvalerie
My DH was fine until he got squirted with amniotic fluid! When our dd came out, a large gush of water hit him and everyone else near my feet. His face turned three shades of red then four of green. It was so funny, but the poor guy was disgusted. -- lovemybabys1106
My son was born at home and I was squatting at the end of our bed with my SO sitting behind me. He was basically holding me when our son was born, and we saw him emerge and I heard him whisper, "Oh my God..." in my ear in the sweetest, softest voice I've ever heard him use. He was in awe! -- Pandana
My husband was excited but grossed out -- he's since been referring to my vagina as "ground zero" and my baby is 8 months old now. He was a bit annoying, too -- "There's the baby's head. Wait! He went back inside. No, wait, there's the head!" I didn't need anyone to tell me what he was doing -- I could feeeeel it! -- Lovin_LiL_ViC
What about you? Is your husband or SO nervous about the birth? Or if you've given birth before, how did he do in the labor and delivery room?

My husband was calm and collected throughout delivery, and held my hand the whole time. I thought it was great. Then, when our daughter was about 2 weeks old, somebody asked him "So, how was it?" His response was, "It was, uh...... Educational."
In labor with the first, he held my legs for hours in the birth tub. ;-P Poor guy was SORE after that, haha.
And with the second birth, he had DD on his lap, both in the birth tub, and they chatted about was was happening~ we all joked together, feeling the bag before it broke & everything. He kept our daughter relaxed. He was perfect! :-)
My husband was fine until they cut me for the episiotimy......he blanched and almost passed out after that. It was kinda funny.
He was so funny when I was giving birth, lol.
He left every 20 minutes exactly to give updates to family in the waiting room and to smoke. And when I was pushing, he was fanning me with paper because I was sweating. And he held my leg and closed his eyes soooo tight and turned his head the other way. Poor guy.
After I had her he told me he only stayed because he thought I was going to pass away. Poor guy. He tells everyone he had it worse than me, lol,
DH was wonderful! Labor hit hard right as we were going to bed, so neither one of us had gotten any sleep. He stayed up with me until I enjoyed a post-epidural nap, got up to bring me ice chips when I wasn't allowed to eat, helped take my mind off things and otherwise stayed out of my way during labor. He even held me while they did my epidural... not standard practice at our hospital, but I was glad for it. He held my leg while I pushed, got gowned when she crowned, and delivered our baby (with the doctor taking over his place holding my leg). He even took over counting to really keep our focus.
And then after they cleaned her up, he handed me our daughter... and held her on my chest, because I was shaking violently from the adrenaline. And he's been just as great of a daddy ever since.
My man watched the brth of all 3 of my children as the were born rapidly. I went into rapid labor with my 1st when we were ot shoppign and coudl barely make it through the carpark and Lilike (Lily) was born in an emergency ward at a small hospital very close by in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Where they broke my waters. When I went into labor with my 2nd went straight to the big hospital with Lilike and daddy. The midwives wanted Lilike to stay with her daddy and daddy held Lilike as daddy and Lilike watched baby Locke be born. My man went straight to his moms house while I was in rapid labor with baby no 3 we waited in her driveway while I was in agony and she refused to take the kids as his mom said she was vaccuming so off to the hospital with both a 5 year old girl and 2 year old boy in tow and they both witnessed the birth of there baby sister Anjeni along with daddy who cut the cords of all three of his kids. And the most beautiful picture I have is of me and Stevie with Lilike moments after her birth taken by Emergency hospital staff.

I had an emergency C/s so we were both really really nervouse but he acted great. He didn't follow all the directions i had given him but he did pretty good!!
My first dd daddy almost fainted, he was pale and the dr actually told him to sit down. After my dd was born he was in the bathroom on the floor i think he may have vomited. He is an amazing father and i think he was so excited and anxious the day she was born. My second dd daddy was jsut staring, like he couldnt believe his eyes. He just wanted to hold her as soon as she came out, he didnt care if she was clean or not lol.
Hubby did alright. He held a leg and faced the wall behind us. He's very squimish. I requested a mirrior and watched it all!! It was great!
When our daughter was born we both started crying and he wispered "She's so perfect!"
