It was less than two months ago that Scarlett Johansson told Good Morning America that she’s “not doing any wedding planning” with fiancé Romain Dauriac, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t doing any baby planning!
Sources are confirming that the lovebirds are expecting their first child -- which maybe explains why she said her plans to walk down the aisle were “far off.” She probably wants to enjoy one thing at a time -- not to mention give herself some time after the baby comes to get back down to her Sexiest Woman Alive figure.
The Don Jon actress split from ex-husband Ryan Reynolds in 2011 after almost three years of marriage. As recently as December 2012, she admitted that she never thought about marriage. “It’s not really important to me,” she told Elle U.K., before going on to say, “I’m not having kids anytime soon.”
So much for that theory!
Really though, babies can do change relationships, and emotions tend to run high during pregnancy, so it makes sense that the couple may want to wait to tie the knot.
Will Johansson and Dauriac remain a committed couple as parents? My guess is yes, going on what she about her relationship with the French journalist last fall:
"I didn't think I was a jealous person until I started dating my current, my one-and-only," she shared. "I think maybe in the past I didn't have the same kind of investment. Not that I liked my partner less, I just wasn't capable of it or caring that much."
It seems like ScarJo is solidly in love with her baby daddy, even if the wedding bells will have to wait.
Do you think it’s better for pregnant engaged couples to wait until after the baby is born to get married?
