Plenty of parents wind up having their babies fairly close together in age -- but one mom in the U.K. is getting way more than she bargained for after conceiving triplets four weeks after giving birth to her first child!
I know. My head is spinning too over the idea of have four babies all under the age of 1 in the span of less than a year. Holy. Moly.
Sarah and Benn Ward had a tough time getting pregnant with their son, Freddie. They decided to go ahead and start trying for another baby shortly after his birth, thinking it would take quite some time again.
They did the deed a mere four weeks after Sarah delivered, and BOOM! She turned up preggo. With three babies. (OMG.) She got the positive pregnancy test result when her son was just 8 weeks old. And while she admits being shocked, she seems pretty at ease with the idea of having four little ones at home ... so I guess she and Benn are prepared?
Maybe I missed the boat somewhere, but I always thought there was some sort of two- to three-month grace period between giving birth and getting knocked up again. I mean, I didn't even have my period return for at least a couple months after I had my son. Isn't getting your period kind of a prerequisite for your cycle working the way it's supposed to again after delivery?
Gah. Not that most women are exactly in the mood for sex so soon after giving birth, being that they just spent hours trying to get something out of their body -- but if you do find yourself feeling frisky? Yeah, you might want to think about making sure your birth control is in check unless you're totally prepared for another nine months of pregnancy. And another baby. Or three.
Did you have any idea you could get pregnant right after giving birth?
