'DWTS' Edyta Sliwinska Gives Baby a Ho-Hum Name

Love It! 9

Edyta SliwinskaAww! Dancing With the Stars pro Edyta Sliwinska is officially a mom! She welcomed her first child, a baby boy, with husband Alec Mazo on January 4th, and she showed off this photo of herself holding her new bundle of joy on Twitter.

(Let's not even comment on how bangin' her bod looks just six days after having a kid. Of course it does. She's a dancer.)

Anyway ... Edyta and Alec are of course, over-the-moon about their new arrival. As she said in her photo caption, "We are in love and as happy as can be!!"

Ok, so I'm sure you want to know what they called their new son. Well, their choice of name may surprise you -- I know I was a bit like, "Huh?"

Edyta's baby's name is Michael Alexander Mazo.

Yep ... Michael. It's a great name and all, but aren't you a little shocked that they went the traditional route, given how unique Edyta's name is?

I mean, I know Alec is really common, so maybe that's why they chose something simple for their son?

But I guess this is a welcome change, given how many celebs name their kids really wacky things. You really can't go wrong with a strong name like Michael ... right? And just look at that baby's sweet, perfect face. The moniker really seems to suit him, given what a handsome little man he is.

Congrats to Edyta and Alec -- and welcome home Michael!

Are you surprised that Edyta chose a traditional name for her son?

Finally a name without a navigational direction or fruit. I think its perfect!!!

Why should we be surprised. Perhaps she grew up with the difficulties of a uniquely spelled name and wanted to spare her son. Perhaps her husband nixed and weird spellings. Perhaps she just loves the name Michael.

Any way you look at it, Micheal is a wonderful classic name. Love it!

Coles... Coles_mom

Is her name that unusual given her country of origin?

Eddie... EddiesMama1983

I'm glad they gave their child a normal name and not something as pretentious as Nightingale
