maternity ward nurses Yikes. Out of all of the possible things that can go down during the birth of our babies ... pooping on the table has to be one of every pregnant woman's biggest fears.

None of these work. When your pregnant you get constipated especially towards the end. Then you have a baby being pushed out. Some things gotta give.

I do NOT understand why women stress about this! The folks in your delivery room have seen it all. If it happens, you probably won't even notice, it'll be wiped up and no mention will be made. I have no idea if I did that or not for either delivery. Was never mentioned.

There are way more important things to stress about more than pooping. Take it from someone who did (with my first, but not with my second). No one cares. The doctor and nurses didn't bat an eye, it was never mentioned. And to be honest, while I rather I hadn't, it wasn't that big of a deal.

It's great that we can talk about it so women are prepared that it might happen, but let's not focus on it.

I was asked if I wanted an enema done. I laughed and said, nope, if I poop, I poop.

And to tell women to not fight the urge to push are you a fucking idiot?!?!?!?!?!?

Yes you feel like you have to poop when it's time to push....that is the most idiotic, anyone at the stir as said.

I am with Cara. With my first baby I had to poop early on in labor wjich had to be induced, so I went ahead and did it. with my second I went into labor on a Thursday morning and labored all day, obviously very slowly, that night I called the OB dept and told them and they said to eat a big dinner because it would probably be a while before I could eat again. So I did. I labored slowly all night. Finally the next morning things began to progress. I worried I would poop myself vut didn't care once the hard labor started and I didn't in fact it was three more days before I had a movement. Your body is going to do whatever it wants. Just go with it.

I spent most of early labor in the bathroom with both my kids and never pooped on the table. One of my friends was less lucky. She went out for a big dinner, a last hurrah before the baby came and she felt the need to control her caloric intake again, and then went in to labor a couple of hours later. Turns out that eating your own weight in deep fried bar food is an especially bad idea right before labor.

Being in labour made me poop a lot. For the most part, I got it into the toilet.

The last half hour I was squatting. Every time I had a contraction I would poop a bit. I did not care AT ALL. After being in natural labour for 13 hours, it was at the bottom on my list of problems.

I agree with everyone else. Taking a poop was the LAST thing I was worrying about.
