Tori Spelling Admits She Lied About How She Lost the Baby Weight

Kiri Blakeley Say What!?

IfTori Spelling you ever wondered (of course you wondered) whether those celebrities who have such incredible post-baby bodies were telling the truth when they said they lost their baby weight by breastfeeding, walking, or merely gazing in the mirror and willing it be so, well, one celebrity is blasting the lid off this nonsense. Tori Spelling says she lost her baby weight by NOT EATING. Yes, we have it from the source, folks. Finally, a celeb who admits the harsh truth.

Tori is on a hardcore campaign to sell her latest book, Spelling It Like It Is, and to that end, she has confessed that she and husband Dean are too broke to afford a vasectomy, and that she thinks Katie Holmes can't sing and is "plastic."

But this latest divulgence might make some moms angry. You see, while they were desperately trying to swim away the baby pounds -- just as Tori claimed she did after the birth of son Finn -- the truth is that Tori made that all up. She may have told US Weekly that she lost her baby pouch by taking some laps, but now she 'fesses up:

For several months, I couldn't really exercise. There were a couple reasons. First, there was some risk that my scar would open up again. I was terrified of that. Second, I really don't exercise much, period. So I took my weight the old-fashioned way. I like to call it the Just Keep Your F***ing Mouth Shut and Eat Air diet. It's all the rage.

My publicist had given me clear instructions about what to say about my weight loss. Women didn’t want to know that I had lost weight through dieting, not exercising ... So I said that I swam [even though] I can’t do much more than a doggy paddle.

So there you have it, folks. A celebrity willing to bare the unvarnished truth about how they lose weight. They. Stop. Eating.

Whose fault is this really though? Tori for lying? Or the public for being so insatiably curious about something that is none of their business anyway? I say both.

It's no wonder Tori wanted to look hot -- she posed for this bikini shot shortly after Finn (baby #4) was born. But moms aiming for those flat abs wouldn't have gotten them -- at least not by swimming, the way Tori claimed she did.

The obsession with celebrities losing all their baby weight right after delivery is one that has been moving magazines for awhile now. And it is women who are driving this obsession. Way to put unneeded and possibly dangerous pressure on yourself, ladies.

It's gotten so bad that Kim Kardashian didn't even show her face for months after her birth, lest someone call her fat.

Kudos for Tori for finally speaking the truth, but I'm still waiting for a celebrity that says, "Screw you all, I'll lose it when I lose it." Of course, they need to lose it faster than your average woman does, or they could lose film and TV work. Not to mention that no one gets on a magazine cover by saying, "I had my baby a year ago and have lost 5 pounds!"

One celeb did recently say she was sitting out the "baby weight rat race" -- her name is Kristen Bell. And she doesn't look too Photoshopped on the cover of Redbook either! Maybe she will start a trend.

Did you try to lose weight quickly after your baby? Do you think celebs lie about it?
