Gwen Stefani Pregnant With Baby #3 -- at 43!

Love It! 36

Gwen StefaniWell, it looks like the Hollywood baby boom isn't slowing down any time soon! Gwen Stefani is reportedly pregnant with her third child with husband Gavin Rossdale. A source told Us Weekly "it's very new and they just found out," so it sounds like it's still fairly early in the pregnancy.

Since Gwen's two sons, Kingston and Zuma, are 7 and 5, respectively -- she should have two very good little helpers on her hands once their baby brother or sister arrives.

And while pregnancy news is always exciting no matter who the expectant celeb mom is, Gwen's new bun in the oven is definitely cause for celebration, considering she's 43 years old.

I don't know what exactly it is about the number 40, but I think a lot of women assume that their childbearing days are over once they hit that milestone. Something about it just seems so ... final. That's why we have to give Gwen major props for not giving up on her dream of having another baby even though she's "over the hill."

Back in 2012, she told Marie Claire that she "really, really wanted" a third -- but "it didn't work out." She could've easily just thrown in the towel and assumed that two was her magic number and that she was officially done. It's just so awesome that she still went for it -- and now her dream of expanding her brood is coming true!

Women around her age who are seriously considering having another baby but think they're being unrealistic should use her as a source of inspiration and as a great example of the whole "age is only a number" philosophy.

I mean, who says we have to put a limit on when women can and can't have kids simply based on the number of birthdays they've had? Just look at Gwen in the photo above -- she's absolutely beaming! Any time moms are thinking "their time is over," all they need to do is take a look back at that pic and see the happiness on Gwen's face to know that if having a baby is in their heart -- nothing should stop them from trying.

HUGE congrats to Gwen and her family!

Do you have a "cut-off" age as far as getting pregnant goes?

Good for her! I personally wouldn't want to have a baby at 43, but everyone is different. My kids will be 18 and 20 whenI am 43, so I would not want to start over. I have a friend who is pregnant with her second baby at 36 ... her other son will be 16 next month. Bless her ... it's what she really wanted, but it's not for me!

I had my 3rd, a boy, at 42 and my daughters were 24 & 18, with 12 & 10 year old stepchildren! We have been blessed with a wonderful family & our new addition is totally spoiled by his big sisters & brothers! If you're healthy enough, why not?

Unfortunately age is not just a number. I wish her the best but truth is women were not meant to have kids into their 40s & up! We all know the risks skyrocket so why sugarcoat it & use her as an example?

Women have had children in their 40s for years. Menopause usually doesn't hit until your50s or later so you can still get preggers. My grandma was 42 when she had my mom. It was planned out that way. She married in her late 20s, early 30s. So, it is not unheard of.

Similar to SVaughn, I was 41, almost 42 when my 2nd was born, my older son was 10, my stepchildren were almost 20, 18 and 16. I had no complications and my son is adored by his siblings!

I decided if I didn't have a second child by 35 I would be done. Well life throws curve balls and I'm due to have a baby in 3 weeks. My due date is on my 39th birthday. This pregnancy has been easier and I've had less complications than my pregnancy 10 years ago.

These stories always make the ageists come out! I just turned 43 in August, I have a 5 month old, a 3.5 year old and my oldest will be 18 this month! I've never felt better! @ladywithtwo: of course there are risks, as there are with ANY pregnancy, but sometimes circumstances get in the way of having babies in a women's twenties. I did not decide to have children later in life with a blind eye to the risks as I am certain most older women don't.. I have 3 beautiful, healthy children, I was blessed & consider myself to be very fortunate. I also know that I would feel equally blessed if we had been given a special needs child, because that is the risk I chose to take. Funny, my OBGYN said I was a model pregnant woman and actually suggested I might want to have one more! It's not happening but I thought it was quite the compliment!

I have a 24,18 and 14 year old in my girls, and 12, 7 and 6 in my boys. Had my first at 24 and my last one at 42 (43) by 6
I had no problems with them at any of the ages... God is good.
