While we're all waiting, nervously pacing halls and obsessively checking in for updates on the Royal Birth, we've found a way to give you at teensy peek into that delivery room. Us Weekly has let us inside the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital where Kate Middleton is in labor. A window into the Lindo, haha! Well, not literally inside, but they've got details on all the amenities of Kate's birthing suite. And it all sounds fittingly cushy. Oh sure, maybe not BEYONCE grand, but grand enough for a royal.
Royal Legacy: The Lindo Wing is where Princess Diana gave birth to Princes William and Harry. In fact, Kate used the same entrance as Di did, the Mary Stanford entrance. Prince Charles's sister Anne gave birth to her two children there, as well.
New Decor: The Lindo Wing underwent a major renovation last year. The sparkling new individual birthing rooms now have a birthing pool.
Entertainment: Least anyone get bored waiting around while their wife does all the work, there's satellite television and radio and daily newspaper deliveries. Also there is a safe, where one might store one's crown.
Grub: Kate and her entourage will be served by a dedicated catering staff. The fancy menu includes a complete wine list with champagne ready for the celebratory moment.
All for the low, low price of: The suite costs the dollar equivalent of about $9,000 per day. Have mercy! Still a bargain compared with Beyonce's rooms, which cost over a million.
Two important things missing from Kate Middleton's labor suite: Mother Carole and sister Pippa. The Palace says neither will be there for Kate's labor, just Prince William and the necessary medical staff.
Do you think it's appropriate that Kate Middleton's room be posh but not too "fancy"?
