Do you think twice before using cosmetics and hairspray while pregnant? There's a new movement in England and Europe to consider labeling cosmetics to mark some as unsafe for moms-to-be. Growing concern over the exposure of pregnant women to chemicals commonly used in make-up and hairspray being linked to birth defects is the reason for the potential labeling measure. Another part of the worry? A 2007 study in the UK which claimed that British women absorb about 5lbs of cosmetics a year through their skin and mouths.
What do you think? Would a labeling system for cosmetics be a good thing?

I think so. I stopped dying my hair when I was prego, among all the other things I changed in order to have a healthy child. I think it's important for people to be informed and we don't all have the time to research every little thing. That being said, it really makes one wonder why we would subject ourselves to that harm in the first place?
i think it would definitely be a good idea to label cosmetics!
but as far as dying your hair goes.....its ok to dye it as long as the dye doesnt have ammonia in it.
I think any product women use should be labeled if it is unsafe for us to use while being pregnant or breastfeeding. If it has been found that make-up, hair spray & perfumes are on that list- then YES they all should be labeled ASAP! I wonder why things like this aren't labeled to begin with.
there's alot of things in cosmetics that can harm you or your baby.
i'm always checking cosmeticdatabase.com to see how mine rate.
