Wiz KhalifaAt last, one of the most watched pregnancies of recent months has come to term. Today, Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa welcomed into the world their much-anticipated son.

Wiz took to Twitter to share the big news. First he tweeted "Daddy time" along with a picture of himself in a surgical mask. Then: "Everyone welcome this perfect young man into the world."

There were no details about the birth and if it went according to their plan, which included a home water birth and Wiz puling the baby out himself. Hopefully (and likely given how open they've been about the whole process) more details on that will be forthcoming soon, but at least they didn't leave us hanging when it came to the name.

I was surprised when I heard it. Based on comments they'd made previously about the name they had chosen -- that it was a "totally boss name" -- it's far from what I expected.

It's Sebastian. Sebastian Taylor Thomaz (Wiz's birth name is Cameron Thomaz). His rapper nickname: The Bash.

I've got to say I'm pleasantly surprised. It's so ... normal. I expected something way more out there from these two. They previously said the name they had chosen was "normal but not common" but I didn't have much faith that their version of "normal" was the same as most. As for common, well, I can't tell you how many Sebastian's I know and run into on a daily basis. According to Baby Center, it was the 40th most popular name in 2013. But that's okay -- it's much better than something so out there that you fear for the kid's mental health.

I like it -- in fact, Sebastian was the name I wanted for my son nine years ago. My husband vetoed it, but I've always liked it. And you've got to admit, The Bash is about as cool as nicknames come.

So congratulations to Amber and Wiz -- both on the birth of their son, and on picking a pretty great baby name.
