OK, I confess: I never get my flu shot. Really -- never. I guess I have this feeling that they somehow never really work, and that if I'm gonna get the flu I'm gonna get the flu -- regardless of whether or not I got the vaccine.
And when I was pregnant in winter, I didn't get it then, either. But a new study suggests that pregnant women really should get it -- that it's helpful protection for both the mama-to-be and the baby on the way.
So what do you think? Will you get one this winter, or are you just not a go-get-a-shot kind of person?

I've never had a flu shot...and I've never had the flu. So, I'm not going to get one now.
I never got a flu shot and never had the flu, been sick but not that sick. I have known people to get the flu shot every year or whenever your able to and they get the flu alot. I have not intentions of ever getting the flu shot.
Oh ya and back when I was pregnant in 06 my OB said I should get the flu shot, I never got it. I never got sick.
I read somewhere NOT to do the Nasal Spray when pregnant cause it is the live flu bug but that the vaccine is safe.
I was at the Dr.'s today and my Dr. said she highly recommends getting the flu shot for me. I do normally get the flu during flu season due to working in a public office. However, I am quite nervous about it because the flu shot is new yearly, and i worry if the vaccine in the shot could harm my baby! I dont know if it is tested in great depths. You hear all these stories about Autism being linked to vaccine's. Anyone else worry about this?
Exactly, navyjen: no nasal spray, but the shot is HIGHLY recommended. The likelihood of getting the flu from the shot is super tiny, and most people that end up getting it after having the shot were already infected with it! I will never NOT get the shot again, I need to stay healthy for my baby! (Oh, and I am definitely not a shot person!)
I'm pregnant and I will be getting a Flu shot.So will my hubby and my 2yr old daughter. I would not want one of us to get the flu and give it to the baby since he will be born during Flu season.
At a check up on 2 days ago the doctor said they would be coming in to give me the flu shot, I've never had one before. So, 2 days later the area is still sore!!! And, I've been sneezing all day long!!!!! Not happy with it!!!
i haven't had a shot since i was 5..and i don't plan on starting..i hate needles.
