Kim Kardashian's Baby Name Is None of Our Business

Mom Moment 3

Kim KardashianEven though she most likely doesn't know the sex of her baby-to-be quite yet, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that Kim Kardashian is already thinking about baby names for her little one.

And of course, everyone is kind of expecting her and Kanye West to keep with tradition and give their child a name that starts with the letter "K." E! News asked Kim about that possibility, and here's what she had to say:

"We're not sure yet. I have to discuss that with my boyfriend to see where we are. But we'll keep the name private, I think, whenever we decide."

(Smart move, Kim. SMART move.)

More from The Stir: Kim Kardashian Wants to Trademark Her Baby's Name

Every time I hear couples announce their chosen baby name before the birth, if it's anything remotely unique, my first reaction is to look at them and say, "Are you out of your mind? Aren't you worried that someone will steal that name right out from under your feet?"

Yes, I know that once you are set on a name, it can be pretty hard to keep quiet about it, because you're so excited and you just want to shout out every last detail about your impending arrival from the rooftops. But if you are going to share it, you have to be very selective with who you tell, especially when you're around other expectant couples.

My husband and I settled on our son's name fairly early on in my pregnancy, but we didn't tell a soul what we'd chosen. Not our parents, not our best friends -- no one.

When I first found out I was pregnant, I talked to a good friend who had made the mistake of "leaking" her son's name. Lo and behold, a girlfriend of hers who was also pregnant gave birth before her, and didn't hesitate for one second to give her son the exact same moniker. (Bitch.)

And there was no way in hell I was going to let the same thing happen to me, so I guarded my baby boy's name with my life, and to this day, he's the only child I know who has that name. (Sorry, I don't share his name online; otherwise, I'd spill. It's a really cool name though, trust me.)

Whatever they wind up calling their new addition, Kim and Kanye will never regret staying mum on the name, and not releasing any details to the media. There are so few surprises in life anymore as it is, so they might as well keep at least a few things secret!

Have you chosen a baby name yet? Have you shared it with anyone?
