Jessica Simpson's Gross Eating Habits Should Have Been Curbed After Her First Pregnancy

Jessica SimpsonShe may not have come right out and confirmed her baby news yet, but pretty much everyone who's anyone is convinced that Jessica Simpson is pregnant with her second child.

She's wearing baggier clothes. She's carrying humongous purses in front of her alleged growing belly, and oh yeah, it appears as though she's kicked her strict Weight Watchers diet to the curb, which has to mean she's preggo, right?

I mean, considering Jessica recently ordered a grilled cheese sandwich, onion rings, and a ginger ale while dining at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, I'd say she's not too worried about maintaining her girlish figure at the present moment, which is very indicative of a bun in the oven.

But seriously, if she is expecting baby number two, what in the heck is she doing chowing down on grilled cheese sandwiches and onion rings and guzzling soda?!? Didn't she learn anything about what consuming grease and sugar does to your body from her pregnancy with baby Maxwell?

OMG. Maybe she was simply splurging, as most of us do from time to time, but if she keeps indulging her cravings for unhealthy food, odds are good she's going to put the 70 pounds or so she gained with her first baby right back on with the second.

(And she just worked her butt off to lose all that weight! What is she thinking?)

Ok, so I can totally understand eating anything you want and letting loose a bit during your first pregnancy, because I did it too. I put on a good 50 pounds with my son, and while I did stick to a fairly healthy diet, I saw no problem with eating a bagel with cream cheese and tomato and two bowls of cereal every morning for breakfast. I may not have eaten a ton of junk, but I ate a ton of whatever I happened to be eating, which is probably why I packed on 50 pounds.

But I figured it was the one time in my life where I didn't have to worry about my weight, so I pretty much let myself have a field day during meal time.

I thoroughly enjoyed my pregnancy and don't regret anything I did during it, but I can tell you for sure that if I ever were to get pregnant again, I'd be much more diligent about my diet the second time around. Those 50 pounds may have been a lot of fun to put on, but they were definitely no picnic to take off, and I certainly wouldn't want to attempt to do it again.

Hopefully Jessica will make smarter choices about what she eats from here on out -- at least most of the time. (Every pregnant woman deserves a little bit of a splurge here and there.)

Have you vowed to do things differently when it comes to your diet with your second pregnancy?
