If you've ever been in the Big Apple when the ball drops on December 31, you know the true meaning of the word "chaos." If you haven't, well, it's exactly the way it looks on TV -- except 100 times louder and crazier. That's why I was dying to see this episode of CafeMom Studios' Birth Stories: I Went into Labor on New Year's Eve in New York City! And, whoa. As a mom who almost gave birth to her first baby in a NYC taxi, I want to give THIS mom a big hug.
Becky wondered if Baby #2 might show up early -- his due date was January 8th, but big bro arrived a week sooner than planned, and this urban mom just had a hunch ...
Wouldn't you know it? Mother's intuition never fails! At least Becky wasn't too surprised when she went into labor -- in her 4th floor Brooklyn walk-up -- at around 11 p.m. on December 31st!! I won't ruin the (happy, of course!) ending to this suspense-riddled birth story for you, but let's just say by the time this poor woman made it over the bridge and through the miles of crowds of drunken revelers to her hospital on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, it was 12:20 a.m.
Sending you a virtual hug, Becky!!!
Watch this video and tell us ... is this woman's labor your worst nightmare?!
